Symi Harbour Video (time-lapse)

Time- lapse video of the sun rising over Symi Island harbour. 1 hours footage condensed to 3 minutes. Music by Chicane.

Symi Rocks!

Introducing their new, groundbreaking album "First Steps" Cosmic Podcasted a sneak preview in April, to an enthusiastic reception from an international audience, as well as attracting positive recognition from the prog rock music press. The music of Cosmic Singularity combines the individual talents of well-respected prog musicians from a number of established groups - including Azureth, Stuey Blue, Binary Spirals, PleasureDome, LightSpeed, and Ain't TV - to create a totally new and original, epic sound, although one which will appeal to any fan of each member’s distinctive musical style and background. Fronted by Steve McAndrew on vocals and guitar, the band also features Mike Kosacek on drums and engineering, Stephen Rivera on keyboards and Rod Chappell and Todd Monroe on bass guitars.

Steve McAndrew is a regular visitor to Symi, and in fact 3 of the songs on the album are influenced by the Island. Check out the links below for more information!

Athan Presents The Symi Podcast #9 - Progressive Mix

This month, The Symi Podcast is a guest mix by the Athenian Dj Athan. I met Athan in May when he came to visit Symi. We talked about music and I mentioned I produced The Symi Podcast. Athan got his first Technics 1210s at the age of 15, and has been hooked on dance music and mixing ever since. DJing in several bars and clubs back home, I mentioned it would be great to feature one of his mixes for the podcast. He agreed, and so this months mix is a personal collection from him.

Athan has mixed some of his favourite new white labels for this podcast featuring tracks from Jozef Mihalik and Babak Shayan. This is not the last we'll be seeing of Athan. Thank you to him for a great mix. Passionate about Symi, passionate about his music maybe one day he'll play here in one of the clubs or bars.
